FREE

Suzanne had asked me lately: “Cosima, are you free?”

It took me quite a while, then I had to agree:

Long ago when I was with you, on your scooter riding through

All the places that we belong, singing our song

It was the time of our life

We were just carefree and wild

Youth is wasted on the young

Today, to me, you’re just someone

You counted all the ways that made us have it all:

Top grades in school, good manners, skinny and beautiful

We were dressing up high class, searching our Chuck Bass

We were best friends, no matter what, walking the same strut

It was the time of our life

We were just carefree and wild

Youth is wasted on the young

Today, to me, you’re just someone
